ORIGINAL CYMATIC COMPOSITIONS IN WATER V.X

Cymatic: (adj) phenomena of visualizing sacred geometric patterns through dynamic audio frequencies.

Everything has a frequency, thus everything is bound by a harmonious vibration. What humans hear as sound is only a range of frequencies that our ears identify.

What then is the frequency of a location? What then is the frequency of liquid? What do those sounds look like?

Cymatic Sculpture, Los Angeles River, CA is both water sculpture and water experiment.

Small samples of LA River water have been collected and noted for location and visual surroundings,

Audio recordings have been also captured both in the water and at traffic level.

These investigations have then been dissected to produce Cymatic patterns that then get projected via live feed camera essentially turning any surface into a geometric puddle.

A speaker at the top emits a range of frequencies, arranged into several compositions I have associated with the LA River, that will send ripples through the puddle of water inside the speaker and create a range of Cymatic, Sacred Geometric patterns on the surface of the water.
